Happy Eastertide: Put not your focus on the secular men of this world
The forces of evil want you to be angry, confused and sinful - don't let them.
I don’t know about all of you but I am still on a wonderful high (not drug-induced of course) following Easter. I have so much to be grateful and joyous for, and can’t thank Him enough for bestowing so many blessings upon me, His unworthy servant. Every Sunday at Mass is a blessing but this past Sunday was especially moving. It was Low Sunday so it was quiet, but with all of the noise and distractions in our daily lives, quiet time with Him is a good thing. I don’t have a photo but while in the Church, a strong ray of sunlight penetrated the stained-glass window so hard that it cast a strong light at a diagonal, right onto the golden heart of the Sacred Heart of Jesus statue. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I think it was a sign from Above: a reminder about where to stay focused in these crazy, confusing times.
Reflecting on the daily readings post-Easter, the Apostles didn’t have much peace following the Resurrection. Other than their time with the Resurrected Lord, the secular world around them was every bit as hostile, if not more, than it was prior to the Passion. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose. In English: the more things change, he more they stay the same.

Don’t let the world’s problems take away the joy of Eastertide
The Octave of Easter may be over but it’s still Eastertide. We have the Ascension to look forward to, Rogation Days, Pentecost and some wonderful feast days for the saints including The Solemnity of St. Joseph (22 April), St. Catherine of Siena (30 April), St. Monica (4 May), the Apparition of St. Michael the Archangel (8 May) and St. Rita of Cascia (22 May) just to name a few. What could possibly ruin the mood for this glorious season? Surely not the antics of bad politicians or the defeat of seemingly good politicians? That’s what the shadowy puppet-players in Tel Aviv and Davos want but there’s no need to fall into their trap, via their proxies in the media. They’ve already been defeated by His Life, Death and Resurrection. What seem like their victories in the news are temporary, very temporary.
Viktor, we hardly knew ya!
In case you have been on a media fast this week, long-time Hungarian president Viktor Orbán was defeated in his re-election campaign. To the secular left, Orbán was tied with Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump-Kushner for being more evil than satan. To the secular right, he was tied with Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump-Kushner for being holier than Barry Goldwater. To me, he appeared on the surface to be a good president, but having written off representative democracy completely in 2020, I did not see him to be some type of savior who would resurrect the glories of the Austro-Hungarian empire. Why?
As I was reminded in a discussion comment by a Hungarian on the Non Veni Pacem website, Hungary, under Orbán, fully participated in the covidism population-reduction scam. The land-locked island of conservatism within the uber-liberal EU had lockdowns, mask mandates, and non-stop vaccine propaganda on state television. Belarus it was not. As “L” the commentator noted, the only difference was that people who rejected the vaccines were not called “far-right”, just “anti-vaxxers”, “conspiracy theorists” and “virus deniers.” When the covidism population-reduction scam went into place, my business travel to Hungary had to suddenly stop which was disappointing. I couldn’t understand for the life of me why Hungary of all countries wasn’t standing up to Bill Gates, the blood-thirsty tyrants in the World Health Organization, and other blowhard globalist entities.
Even more disturbing, “L” noted that Hungary probably has the strictest mandatory vaccination requirements for children in all of Europe. If parents don’t want vaccines for their children, they risk being imprisoned and their children taken away from them and force-vaccinated.
And even more disturbing was Orbán’s support for the atheist zionist entity in the Middle-East that has the audacity to call itself Israel. This time last year, Hungary was withdrawing from the International Criminal Court – yay!!! But, not for a loss of national sovereignty, rather it was due to “anti-semitism” from the ICC. Benjamin Netanyahoo himself made a special visit to Hungary to celebrate and along with Orbán, had a joint celebration statement where Netanyahoo said, “You stand by us in the European Union, at the UN, and you made a real and principled step against The Hague… This is an important decision for the whole world – to stand up to this corrupt institution that has acted against a defending democracy.”
So, for all the “good” that Orbán had done, like getting in front of the microphone to say no to islamic migrants invaders, and paying young couples to have children, those good points were cancelled out by some very, very, very bad points. He looked good on the surface but underneath, was he just a globalist underminer playing the heel? Were the elections in Hungary even fair? I don’t know and there’s no point in fretting over it. As I’ve noted before on Substack, representative democracy does not work and that extends to my friends in Hungary as well. I hope the country does not descend into suicidal madness like Western Europe, but the fact that the new president-elect is very pro EU does not bode well. Hopefully at some point in my lifetime, the Hapsburgs will return for some good-old Catholic, absolute monarchy.
Scandal swallows Swalwell while the swamp regurgitates the Graham cracker
I had never heard of Eric Swalwell prior to this week. Apparently, the California congressman was a favored contender to take the governor’s seat in the upcoming election but oops… sex scandal. It always fascinates me how all of these sex abuse victims come out long after the fact and usually at election or re-election time. The timing of this one is especially interesting as running for congress is a lot more high-profile – nationally – than for governor. Why all the national attention now and especially on a democrat, the party label that automatically gets the media softball treatment? Is he guilty? I don’t know or really care. At this point, nothing nefarious in the DC swamp pit should surprise anyone.
Meanwhile, the easily blackmailable swamp creature from South Carolina, Lindsay Graham, is once again favored to win the primary for re-election to the Senate. A Rasmussen Reports poll provided to Newsweek showed Graham leading with 41 percent on the initial ballot, followed by Mark Lynch’s 21 percent and Paul Dans’ 11 percent. South Carolina is still a very conservative state so assuming these poll results are authentic, he’ll easily be re-elected in the general to keep on doing whatever Netanyahoo and/or his AIPAC minders tell him.
Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.
America’s first antipope vs America’s first jewish president
So Donald Trump-Kushner this week said Pope Leo antipope Robert Prevost was soft on crime, thus “insulting” him and causing widespread condemnation in the media. This coincided with a very blasphemous AI rendering Trump-Kushner posted on social media, portraying him as Our Lord (no, I’m not going to show it – I despise all AI-generated artwork and especially ones that are blasphemous which this certainly was).
Again, no one should be scandalized by this. I don’t have the proof but in my own opinion, based on his everyday actions and especially now, it would not surprise me one bit if Donald Trump-Kusher converted to the talmud, alongside Ivanka when she married Jared. The things written in the satanic talmud about Our Lord and His Blessed Mother are so vile, I can’t bring myself to write them here. Let’s just say that the hatred expressed during the Passion of Our Lord is still there but multiply it by a thousand. So no, I am not surprised, and definitely not scandalized that Donald Trump-Kushner insulted Our Lord on top of his profanity-laced X-post on Easter Sunday when he signed off with “praise allah.” What else should we expect from a guy who has chosen not to acknowledge, let alone condemn the zionist entity’s genocide against the people of Gaza and the rest of Palestine, and is now waging a war against Iran and Lebanon, sacrificing the lives of American servicemen for the satanic goals of “Greater Israel”? Sticking it to Christ and His Church is what these people have been doing for 2,000 years. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.
As for antipope Prevost, what convenient timing! Right after the P.R. disaster, outing him as a Pachamama demon worshipper, he’s now the “victim” of the bad, bad orange man. Don’t fall for it my fellow Catholics and the same for you non-Catholics. The script-writing and acting on daytime soap operas is more believable than this.
Focus on what is Above
In a few weeks, we’ll celebrate the Ascension. Wouldn’t it be nice if we make it to Heaven after our time here on earth ends? It sure would but as specifically stated more than once in the Gospels, entering the Kingdom (not the democraceee) of Heaven is not an easy task. I cringe when I see an obituary that so-and-so has “gone to their Lord and Savior” immediately upon their death. And then there is the sad reality of funerals in novus ordo Catholic Churches where the requiem is downplayed and false teaching that all souls make it to Heaven takes center stage. And I will raaaise you up on eeeagles wings… ughhh!!!
In order to get to Heaven, we have to be in a state worthy of entry into Purgatory. Ouch! That doesn’t sound like fun. No it doesn’t but at least if you get to suffer in Purgatory, you know you aren’t going to wind up in hell for all of eternity with no end. The torturous fires of Purgatory are a great Mercy, and that’s because the Beatific Vision of Heaven is perfect. It’s simply not possible to enter Heaven with any stains or attachment to sin – that would not be perfect.
I may be rambling a little bit but it’s important for all of us to understand the necessity of being in states of grace now, and that’s really hard to do when we’re getting angry or scandalously excited about earthly politics in the state and in the Church. What’s the first thing you do each morning? Pray or get online and check the headlines to see what Prevost did or Trump-Kushner said? If the later, that’s not a good way to start the day and that habit is probably leading you to other sins.
So get grounded in what matters. Yes, the conciliar Church of today is a train-wreck. Yes, we have a wicked antipope and 99% of the chanceries are staffed with men who have personal lives that contradict Church Teaching. And yes, no one lives in an ideal country with a government that respects the sovereignty of Christ the King over all. Those faults are on those men and women in charge. As for us…
Let us turn to the examples of the saints who lived through such times and rather than got caught up in titillating scandals and earthly worries, kept focused on our true home – Heaven.
May God bless all of you this Eastertide.

Well said. Leaving this morning for a 7 day retreat. Your post is perfect timing. God bless!
Thank you for this great read. Your political overview was helpful as was the positive message.
